Our Bluey - 5 things
This is my Mum with our very own Bluey dog. Here are some points of interest:
1. To use a turn of phrase that I acquired from young people, "I legit prayed for a dog to turn up" and that's virtually what happened. I went to church and the minister described a dog that needed re-homing. The call was strong and I acted swiftly.
2. We grew up with labradors before falling in love with a Dachshund-Chihuahua cross called Snoopy and now a blue heeler called Molly (one of Snoopy's sisters in the cartoon).
3. We could never have imagined having such different dogs as Molly and Snoopy (following 2 Jeddas and 2 Princes) but they have both been perfect for us and their timing has been great. (Incidentally, Mum's Dad and my Dad both had black dogs called Prince when they were children).
4. Molly has been with us for a few months and I've been very struck by her devotion to us. She loves her people.
5. The connection with dogs is deeply engrained in our family, coming down through long lines on both sides. I can't imagine not having this bond.
