Things that fit like a glove - 7 points
1. I 'fixed' this toy dog by glueing a pristine, almost perfectly sized panel over the very frayed front. I was staggered at finding such a perfectly suited piece of material in the first drawer that I opened in our china cabinet. Staggered.
2. Currently, I work in various jobs and locations that basically fit me like a glove, despite my various physical challenges. Were the reason for this situation a mere toss-up between good luck and good management, then the first would definitely apply. (I fondly recall my Great Aunty Mary stating that the fact that I had an appropriate coat during a winter visit to England was "more good luck than good management". The coat had been given to me by Great Uncle Geoffrey and Great Aunty Win upon my arrival in Manchester).
3. Decades ago, I acquired a 'gig bag' for my trumpet. It's a snug fit and it is impossible to not notice if the instrument has gone AWOL. (As a primary school student, I once showed up to a band concert with just my case, nothing inside. Drama).
4. Molly, the adopted cattle dog, fits our family so well, as did Snoopy, our former dachshund-chihuahua. I sure didn't anticipate such non-labrador dogs making themselves at home with us.
5. There are people who have emerged in my life and seemed to take their place within some kind of divinely appointed tapestry. That's mysterious.
6. Then there are flowers that make an unkempt valley look vibrant and full of life and hope. They fit or belong.
7. Also, there are conversations that appear to come out of nowhere and are perfectly timed. I was appreciative of, and amazed at, a couple of these today.
"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." - Luke.
