Cruise life...without the cruise
10 Things You Can Do on a Cruise… That You Can Also Do at Home
People talk about cruises like they’re a whole different universe, but honestly, most of the activities translate surprisingly well to everyday life. For example:
Looking at clouds — and taking a truckload of cloud photos, because each one is obviously unique.
Eating — regardless of hunger levels, social expectations, or logic.
Watching TV with the family — okay, we don’t get ocean glimpses between episodes at our place, but still.
Walking up and down hallways — or “corridors,” depending on how nautical you’re feeling.
Sleeping — the universal cruise activity, fully portable.
Reading — reclined, upright, sideways… all formats accepted.
Standing around in the wind and rain — generally regrettable, but undeniably atmospheric.
Watching rain through a window — soothing in all locations, maritime or suburban.
Contemplating life — or not contemplating at all, simply resting in that inner stillness that doesn’t require a boarding pass.
Listening to music — with volume options ranging from “gentle ambience” to “Grandpa drowning out the neighbours' noise at midnight by playing The Messiah at full pelt".
Mum pointed out that it's less likely to catch a bug at home than on a cruise too! :)
